Come #MoreMoreMusic with us this summer in our Little Mission Music Camp! There’s something for everyone, with students being able to choose from Jam Band, Singing, or Guitar Ensemble. This is a full-day, in-person camp. Capacity is limited. All students will perform and impress family and friends at our Final Showcase on Friday, July 17th at 2:00 PM. 

Jam Band:

What could be more fun than jamming out together with your fellow musician friends!? Students will learn the process of collaborating with other musicians including concepts like: teamwork, balance, rehearsal technique, improvisation, & more. Students will learn at least two pieces, one in a small ensemble, & another in our large full ensemble to share at the end of the week. For example, a percussion student would learn a piece in a percussion ensemble alongside other young percussionists, & also participate in our full ensemble. Students will work on a variety of styles of music across genres for a fun, music-filled week!

• Instrumentation: The Jam Band is open to all wind, string, percussion, guitar, and keyboard instrumentalists.
  • The following instruments have limited spots available in the ensemble. 
    • Keyboard Instrumentalists: 3 Students Maximum
    • Percussion: 3 Students Maximum
    • Guitar: 2 Students Maximum
    • Electric Bass: 1 Student Maximum

• • Students on guitar or electric bass must submit an audition video. Based on auditions, any students not placed in Jam Band will be placed with the Guitar Ensemble.
• Ages: Jam Band is for students entering Grades 4 – 10. Students will be broken into appropriate age groups during camp.

Singing:

Let’s do some singing! We create a safe space where beginning and experienced singers can really dive in and learn something new. Over the camp week vocal students will be instructed in breathing, posture, and vocal placement from our highly trained and experienced teachers. Vocal students will be assigned a duet and a partner based on age and skill and then will work with instructors to stage their unique musical number. All Vocal campers will also prepare one grand ensemble piece for their big finale! 

• Ages: Singing camp is for vocal students entering Grades 3 – 10. Students will be broken into appropriate age groups during camp.

Guitar Ensemble:

Let’s play guitar together! The goal of the Guitar Ensemble is to introduce students to the unique challenges of ensemble playing (counting, listening, dynamics, playing with a conductor, etc.), and to expand their knowledge of guitar ensemble repertoire. Students will learn a collection of pieces throughout the week as a large ensemble, with the possibility of splitting off into small groups (duos, trios, or quartets) depending on the number of students enrolled, all to be performed at the end of the week. 

• Ages: Guitar Ensemble is for students entering Grades 2 – 10. Students will be broken into appropriate age groups during camp.

Previous Experience:

For all camp focuses, students should have at least 2 years prior instruction on their instrument/voice. 

Placement Audition:

A brief placement audition is required for enrollment in Little Mission Music Camp. Auditions are only to help us gauge current ability and assign parts and music appropriate for age and prior experience.

*Students who have been, within the last year, either in an LMS Ensemble or current LMS private lessons students who have performed in a LMS Studio Recital do not need to audition.

Audition Requirements:

Upon enrolling, students should submit an audition video containing:

• A brief introduction. (“Hi, I’m Bob & I play the saxophone! The pieces I will be playing are . . .”)
• For Instrumentalists: 
  • Two brief, contrasting, solo excerpts of your choice.
  • Excerpts should showcase ability in expression, articulation, dynamics, rhythm, and tuning.
  • Percussionists should perform excerpts on two contrasting instruments to showcase versatility (drum kit, snare, mallets, accessory percussion, etc.).
• For Singers:
  • A performance of any musical theatre song you love. You may use a recorded piano accompaniment or backing track, but it is completely acceptable to sing without any piano or a backing track.
  • Please have your song memorized and feel free to act out what you are singing about. We want to see your musical flair!
• The total length of your audition video should not exceed 5 minutes in length.
  • Video taken on a phone or mobile device is completely fine – nothing fancy. 😉

Deadline for video submission: 

• Friday, June 12th, 2026
  • Submit your video via email or cloud service (GoogleDrive, Dropbox, iCloud, etc.).

July 13th – 17th, 2026

• Session 1: Monday, July 13th, 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
• Session 2: Tuesday, July 14th, 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
• Session 3: Wednesday, July 15th, 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
• Session 4: Thursday, July 16th, 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
• Session 5: Friday, July 17th, 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Camp Showcase:

• Session 5 is the Final Showcase! Family and friends welcome to an in-person showcase starting at 2:00 PM!

Materials:

Students should bring each day:

• Their instrument.
• A 3-ring binder for music.
• A snack and/or bag lunch for our midday break. 
• A refillable water bottle. 

Extended Care:

Extended care is available from 8:00 – 9:00 AM and 3:00 – 6:00 PM on Monday through Friday of camp for an additional $15 per hour per child. Extended care hours will be logged, and billed at the conclusion of camp.
