Online Session!

Due to current circumstances, this session of Ear Training Workshop will be offered entirely online. You’ll meet weekly at class time online using Zoom conferencing software. In our online format, you’ll still be able to interact with your instructor, and they’ll be able to give you valuable individualized feedback. All resources, music, handouts, & class work will be distributed digitally.

Description:

Refining your sense of pitch and honing your ear are important skills for musicians of any level across all instruments & voice. This weekly workshop will help advance your aural skills through sight-singing, solfege (using movable do), & rhythmic and melodic dictation. The ear is trainable just like any other muscle or skill- it just requires practice!

Levels & Previous Experience:

Ear Training Workshop is offered in two levels, both meet at the same class time each week:

• Level 1: Starts with the fundamentals and is perfect for anyone new to ear training and solfege. No prior experience in a similar class is necessary, but students should be familiar with the basics of reading musical notation.
• Level 2: If you already know the fundamentals of ear training and are comfortable with solfege, Level 2 will be appropriate for you.
