Description:

Recorder is a great first wind instrument for young musicians! In this class, students will work on mastering recorder, postural technique, learning musical notation, sight reading, and playing as part of an ensemble. This class will help prepare students with the musical skills needed to approach their first wind instrument with more confidence and excitement. While students are honing their skill on the recorder, they will also learn about all the different wind instrument options out there in a fun and welcoming environment. If you have a young child who is excited about the flute, trumpet, clarinet, saxophone, or even the tuba, this class is a great stepping stone for them to develop their love and appreciation until they are old enough to pick up the instrument they’ve dreamed of. The final class will showcase all the students hard work!

In order to have safe and productive rehearsals, please review our updated safety guidelines. As of June 2023, we no longer require masks, although it is something we strongly recommend in order to continue keeping our community safe.
